Global Moot Corp to Become a Week of Venture Activities at UT Austin

Students come from around the world to experience the Austin entrepreneurial ecosystem, and perhaps to eat some genuine Texas brisket.

Rob Adams, director of Moot Corp at McCombs School of Business, recently announced plans to turn Global Moot Corp into a week-long “SXSW of New Venture Creation,” featuring speakers, events and showcases from across the entrepreneurship programs that dot the UT Austin campus.

To be sure, the effort is beginning modestly, with a few Venture Week activities built around the granddaddy of world business plan competitions, Global Moot Corp, which takes place May 6-8, 2010. Plans are to expand Venture Week with a more robust schedule of activities beginning next year.

Teams will compete in Global Moot Corp from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Mexico, Norway and Thailand. Students come from around the world to experience the Austin entrepreneurial ecosystem, and perhaps to eat some genuine Texas brisket.
