The discussion will cover topics such as raising venture capital and surviving in today’s economy.
I cannot say enough about the value of the insight presented at the last panel discussion conducted by Texas Moot Corp. Panelists included founders of the major ventures launched out of the Texas Moot Corp experience, and you just cannot discount the words of those who have lived through the roller coaster of new venture startup. (Two of those companies, eVapt and Phurnace Software were successfully acquired this year.)
So put this on your calendar right now. The “second annual?” Texas Moot Corp Reunion Panel is back this year on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the Legacy Events Room, CBA 3.202 in the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. This is open to the public, and I’m sure they’ll post the video afterwards. Here are the details from their announcement:
Reunion of Texas Moot Corp Winners:
Texas Students That Have Successfully Launched Start-ups
A panel of past Texas Moot Corp competitors made up of the founders of nine companies will share their stories and insights into the start-up process. The panel discussion, followed by a question and answer session, will cover topics such as raising venture capital and surviving in today’s economy.
“Moot Corp was the driving force that made me get everything ready by competition date,” said Daniel Nelson, Phurnace Software. “Just by competing, we were able to significantly improve the clarity of the plan and express the demand from the market. And more importantly, our first investors were my judges there.”
Sharing tales of entrepreneurial intrigue—the highs and lows and everything in between:
- Raising venture capital
- Bringing MBA curriculum to the startup process
- Preparing for the Moot Corp Competition
